W.A.I ( Waikuku Artists Inc)
held the 2nd annual sand sculpture competition at Waikuku
Beach on the 6th January.
It was another great success. About 150 people arrived armed
with buckets, spades, sunscreen & their imagination.
Angela Carson, the co-ordinator of this years competition,
along with a few fellow artists found judging very hard
as the standard was extremely high. W.A.I sponsored 1st &
2nd prizes for all the categories & spot prizes were supplied
by the Waikuku Beach Holiday Park & the Waikuku Beach
General Store.
A fun time was had by all who attended - even the sun was
shining (a bit of a rarity for this Summer!)
